In a press release this morning during the opening of CTIA, Sprint has announced the pending release of four new devices that emphasize its emphasis on data, multimedia, and messaging.
Beginning with the Samsung Highnote, the dual-slider features a sliding keypad by pushing up the body, and a pair of stereo speakers by pushing down in a similar form factor that takes its cue from Nokia’s N95 and N96 handsets.
The phone will also feature Sprint’s new OneClick user interface that will be found on all mid-range devices in the lineup from here on out to bring smartphone functionality to the rest of the Sprint lineup, which consists of a user-customizable user interface with a carousel lineup and icon layout which allows the user to choose which frequently used features will be made available with one button press.
The complete featureset for the phone consists of a QVGA display, microSDHC expansion slot with support for 16GB cards, Sprint TV, Sprint Navigation, speakerphone, 2.0 megapixel camera, Bluetooth with stereo audio support and voice dialing. The phone is expected to be available on October 19th for $99.99 after new 2 year agreement and $50 mial-in rebate.
The Samsung Rant is a messaging-oriented device with a sliding QWERTY keyboard as well as a standard keypad in an almost identical form factor to the popular but problematic LG Rumor.
The device will feature a QVGA display, Sprint’s OneClick interface, Sprint TV, Sprint Music Store, Sprint Navigation, Bluetooth with stereo audio support, 2.0 megapixel camera with video recorder, microSDHC slot with support for 8GB cards, and speakerphone. The phone is expected in October for $49.99 after new 2 year agreement and $50 mail-in rebate.
The LG Lotus features a dual-hinge design to accomodate a QWERTY keyboard and standard dialing pad with a unique square design.
The complete featureset for the phone consists of a QVGA display, OneClick user interface, 2.0 megapixel with video recorder, speakerphone, Sprint TV, Sprint Navigator, Sprint Music Store, Bluetooth with stereo audio support, external media controls. The phone is expected to be available for $149.99 after rebates and new 2 year agreement in October.

Thanks for the update, Ive been waiting to hear a sprint upcoming phones update for a while! Unfortunately Ive been dying for a new phone to look forward to and this lineup sucks ***. Is there anything else or is this it till 2009? Thanks guys for keeping up such a great site!
WOW i do love all these phones…
With the diamond and pro coming also this line up kicks but
Go sprint
This is a more than decent lineup, compared to the rest of the of what they needs at least they are DOr0 and can access all that they needs, besides ptt
WOW YAY GO SPRINT!! youre #1!!!
I wouldn’t go that far, if these phones signal the end of 1rxtt phones all the better. I wanted the Rumor but didn’t want to loose capabilities, the Rant is the perfect solution
Actually, just found out the touch diamond has some minor glitches that are being addressed before the launch(sep 14th).
2 more days for the Diamond, what’s the ETA for the rest of them?
Apparently, everything went according to plan in regards to the htc touch diamond launch. Also, nice selection of phones sprint is coming out with as well. Although, at&t seems to be doing well also with their new offerings. But to repeat what someone said previously, “GO SPRINT, U R # 1” !
