Sprint and Clearwire have jointly confirmed a December 1st launch for its respective WiMax services after months of anticipation from customers and insiders. The San Francisco launch has been relegated to a “late December†launch timeframe.
This follows reports of intermittent WiMax service in LA, San Francisco and New York City within the past month as both companies complete preparations to formally launch service and open up sales of equipment and service ahead of the commercial launch to select customers.
Update: Sprint has revised its launch dates for WiMax service at November 1st for New York City and December 1st for LA, with San Francisco in the same “late December” timeframe.
Actually, this press release from Clearwire states November 1st for NYC, not December 1st: http://investors.clearwire.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=214419&p=irol-newsArticle&ID=1483406&highlight=
Wow!!
At last “Los Angeles”, the last Month of the last Quarter of 2010, it better work, without any further excuses!
On a different note, both direct lines to “Tier II” and “Retention” have been disconnected, not speaking of the SPRINT “District Manager’s direct Cell number” that one died over a month ago, good thing this is the “phone company” we are talking about, and yet in their attempt to minimize service feedback, they have shut down access numbers at every level but “*2” !
Thank You
Honestly, who needs to call C.S. so much that a direct line is needed? The thanking jet is looking for stuff to complain about. Heck, because of the plan change she/he wasn’t getting a 4G phone anyway.
