Sony Mobile has ported its Xperia Transfer desktop app to Android and is claiming that it now negates the need for a PC for transferring information from the old device to the new one. Xperia Transfer can sync contacts, calendar, SMS, MMS, bookmarks, notes, photos, music, videos, and apps.
The app can also transfer data from another Android device or from an iPhone. Sony has also stated that if the iOS apps and data being transferred aren’t available in Android form, it will suggest comparable apps/services to replace them on the smartphone. The app is free.
