Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X1 successor in the Xperia X2a has apparently suffered carrier rejection as Sony has taken to offering the device directly without carrier subsidy.
The X2a is the North American variant of the device which is powered by Windows Mobile 6.5 and features Sony Ericsson’s Xperia Panel user interface.
Technical specifications consist of a 3.2 inch WVGA resolution resistive touch display, QWERTY keyboard reminiscent of the Japan market Vaio C1 Picturebook, US 3G support compatible with AT&T and international 3G support for roaming, Qualcomm 528mhz processor, 256MB RAM/512MB ROM, Bluetooth with stereo audio support, 8.1 megapixel camera with auto focus and video recorder, GPS support via built-in transceiver and A-GPS along with a bundled 4GB microSDHC card.
Pricing is set at $599.99 unlocked with availability set for April 29th.
