CNNMoney is reporting that Sony Ericsson has placed an order for 1 million plus handsets running Windows Mobile 6 scheduled for launch in the second half of 2008.
This would mark the first time the company has sought a Windows Mobile based device for its lineup from a third-party manufacturer, relying instead on Symbian/UIQ for its smart device platform with all development and manufacturing done internally. No other details are known at this time.
