    2. Protective Measures

To provide a good experience for the majority of our customers and minimize capacity issues and degradation in network performance, we may take measures including temporarily reducing data throughput for a subset of customers who use a disproportionate amount of bandwidth; if your total usage exceeds 1GB (amount is subject to change; please periodically check Simple Mobile.com for updates) during a billing cycle, we may reduce your data speed for the remainder of that billing cycle. We may also suspend, terminate, or restrict your data session, Plan, or service if you use your Data Plan in a manner that interferes with other customers’ service, our ability to allocate network capacity among customers, or that otherwise may degrade service quality for other customers

This one thing we need to watch

This mirror’s T-Mobile’s terminology. It was probably added by T-Mobile and administered by their NOC. I suspect any MVNO on T-Mobile will have the same restrictions.

True, It will be interesting to see how many people go above the 1gb cap limit i checked with simple mobile we can use a android like nexus one or mytouch 3g. So definitely interesting way to have a cheap plan.

I had no idea they had a 1GB data cap when I signed up for their service. When I hit 1GB over 2 weeks into my first month my data plan was simply TERMINATED without warning. I had no notice. This “protective measures” statement is nowhere on Simple Mobile’s website.

T-mobile’s $60/mo plan includes MUCH higher (5GB– see http://www.t-mobile.com/Templates/Popup.aspx?PAsset=Pln_Lst_DataPlan) of a data cap with throttling over that limit instead of a simple cutoff at 1GB. Simple Mobile is using FALSE ADVERTISING on their “unlimited plan”.
