Samsung has unveiled three new GSM handsets for T-Mobile and AT&T, two that were previously rumored to have US 3G access and one with looks similar to Samsung’s 2003-2004 lineup.
From left to right: The SGH-T639, SGH-A517, and SGH-A127The T639 at one point was rumored to be the first phone launched with T-Mobile’s delayed 3G service, but is now a midrange Alltel Hue clone with quadband GSM/EDGE support, Bluetooth, 1.3 megapixel camera, interchangeable faceplates, microSD expansion slot, and stereo speakers under the main display.The Samsung A517 at one point featured US 3G support according to an FCC filing, but the version being listed on Samsung’s website makes no mention of such support and features quadband GSM/EDGE, a 1.3 megapixel camera, micro SD expansion slot, media player, streaming video support, HTML browser, Bluetooth, and speakerphone.
The Samsung a127 is meant for the GoPhone prepaid lineup as it features dualband GSM support with GPRS data, a VGA camera, and speakerphone.
