Along with the confirmation of the Galaxy S II, Samsung has confirmed the first successor to the original Galaxy Tab, in the form of the Galaxy Tab 10.1.
The Tab 10.1 will feature Android 3.0 “Honeycomb”, Â along with the 10.1 inch touch display, Â running at 1280×800 resolution. It will also include a 1GHz “Exynos” dual-core processor, 8.0 megapixel camera with LED flash, autofocus and 1080p video capture, quad-band GSM/HSPA 21 Mbps support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, a 2.0 megapixel front camera, accelerometer, gyroscope, and proximity sensors, 3.5mm headphone jack.
In addition to 3G and Wi-Fi only variants, the device will be initially offered with 16 and 32 GB storage options.
No launch details outside of Europe and Asia have been provided, despite Samsung announcing support for North American 3G bands in the U.S. models.
Samsung has not disclosed if the original Galaxy Tab models will receive an upgrade to Android 3.0 honeycomb, or if there will be a smaller seven-inch model to match its predecessor.
