The Samsung A660/VI660 is Sprint’s first phone to support FOTA (Firmware Over-The-Air), and we have confirmed that an update is nearing release (version XA28).
However, this begs the question as to if Sprint will follow through with the release of the update via the FOTA system, or make customers travel to a Sprint Store and wait to get the update. Based on our current understanding of how Sprint will do FOTA (eventually), a customer is supposed to be able to contact Sprint to request the update (probably though data support or a TSR), and then Sprint sends a message to the phone that triggers the update process.
