Following speculation that mobile word processing application developer DataViz was quietly acquired by Research in Motion, with employee LinkedIn profiles confirming the purchase, the acquisition has been confirmed for $50 million in cash. To that end, DataViz has also announced that it will cease to develop its flagship DocumentsToGo application on webOS, while remaining quiet on its support for other platforms.
