RealNetworks to Handle Sprint’s Ringtone, Ringback and Mobile Music Services

Following up, the venerable RealNetworks has entered into an agreement with Sprint to handle all of its tertiary music services such as ringtones, ringback tones and full track downloads, replacing multiple services licensed from multiple vendors.

Sprint began offering full-track downloads from solutions provider Groove Mobile in 2005 following the wide deployment of EVDO and recently deemphasized the partnership with the provider by rebranding the Sprint Music Store to eliminate any reference to the company in recent months.

    How knows when the transition will take place, if there will be any enhancements (song id, pc backup, buy whole albums, more selection)?

    Man, can we get some more details on this? I use all the features of my phone and plan, want to know what will happen to my 300+ music catalog and how this will enhance my experience.
