The Wall Street Journal is reporting with independent confirmation from various sources (including PhoneNews.com) that Radio Shack has discontinued the Sprint versions of the Palm Pre and Pixi, with its online store and retail stores no longer listing the devices for sale after multiple visits to local stores.
Sprint representative Scott Sloat has further confirmed the situation to financial publication Barron’s, stating “This is in line with RadioShack’s normal product planning process — there is a designated amount of space in stores for handsets and they work to keep the line up of devices as current as possible.”
This follows the announcement of the pending departure of Palm’s Senior Vice President of Software and Services last week and news that it was seeking further outside investment and potential buyers for the company earlier in the week.
So how would they handle the sale of the iPhone? Just cut that off too?
I work at Radio Shack and I am not sure why this is news?
