According to a Phone Scoop article posted today, the upcoming Audiovox PPC 5050 (currently planned to be released with Sprint PCS) will support 1xEV-DO. While Sprint currently is not planning on upgrading to 1xEV-DO, and will instead go straight to 1xEV-DV, they have stated that they may go to 1xEV-DO to compete with Verizon.
In either case, the 5050 is fully backwards compatible with 1xRTT, so it will work with the current network as-is.
