Pantech has announced the launch of the Renue Quick Messaging Device for AT&T. The phone will be available on Sunday in stores and online for $69.99 after new 2 year agreement and $50 mail-in rebate. The key feature of the Renue is the phone itself is the bodyshell, which is made of 67% recycled material, which makes it one of the most eco-friendly phones on the market as well as one of the most rugged.
Other key features of the phone include the hardware QWERTY keyboard along with its 3.2 inch capacitive touch display, although this phone runs the quickly marginalized BREW MP rather than any flavor of Android, presumably to keep costs down as the phone is one of the few not to require a data plan, which itself is a rarity for the current AT&T lineup. The phone also features a 3.0 megapixel camera and a microSD slot.
