After the flurry of leaks and offical announcement from Palm last month, the Treo Pro smart device is now available for purchase ahead of its release at the end of the month for $549.99 unlocked directly from Palm.
The smart device is notable for featuring Windows Mobile 6.1, internal GPS transceiver with A-GPS support, Wi-Fi radio with support for WPA2 encryption, microSDHC expansion slot, Bluetooth with stereo audio support, speakerphone, 2.0 megapixel camera with video recorder, and quadband GSM/triband W-CDMA support for international roaming with HSDPA packet data.

do we know what carriers will adopt it, Verizon by any chance? will they likely leave the GPS enabled?
A CDMA version of the Treo Pro is in-the-works. And, without the 800w, Verizon is a likely candidate for it.
Verizon has hindered GPS on one PDA (the XV6800), and left it open on another (the Q9c). There’s no telling which way they will go with the Treo Pro.
