After releasing the terminal only developer preview earlier this month, Nokia has released version 1.0 of its MeeGo operating system for Intel Atom netbooks/nettops and the N900.
The release also includes the netbook API and Qt SDK at version 4.6 for development, but there will be a newer release that will support the mobile API and SDK for handset and tablet development in June. Other versions of MeeGo, such as for tablets, are still in-development.
MeeGo is a Linux-based platform designed to be disruptive to Google’s Android, Apple’s iOS, and Microsoft Windows. It was formed by a partnership between Nokia and Intel, and overseen by the Linux Foundation.
