Nokia Announces the E71 and E66

By Fahad Khan on June 16, 2008

Nokia has officially announced the latest addition to their E-Series line up, the E71 and E66. Supporting over a thousand email accounts from various services, both phones are designed to support the lifestyles of those who are very much mobile.

The stainless steel devices come pre-loaded with the Mail for Exchange mobile email client to use with Microsoft Exchange, Nokia Intellisync Wireless Email, System Seven and Visto Mobile. One of the unique features consists of having to switch the home screen from work to personal and vice versa. Another advanced feature on the E66 is the ability to silent the ringer once the phone is turned over – similar to the feature found on the HTC Diamond.

In the ball park of entertainment, both devices support the latest Ovi servies, Nokia Maps, MP3 player, a microSD slot supporting up to 8GB, GPS and a 3.2MP camera. Representing the business portfolio by being in the E-series lineup, Nokia has implemented encryption functionality for both memories, internal and external. The E71 and the E66 support VPN to give access to the user’s respective company’s intranet along with the ability for the device to lock and wipe out any corporate information. Both phones will be supporting HSDPA and WiFi.

They are expected to ship sometime in July at a price of EUR 350.
