Following the announcement of AIO Wireless, Nokia has announced a variant of the Lumia 620 for the prepaid brand now on sale for $179.99. Originally announced earlier this year as a mid-range Windows Phone 8 device for lower costs to entry for carriers and consumers, the 620 features the following specifications:

The phone was originally announced in December ahead of the launch of Windows Phone 8 and was released shortly after the platform’s launch as the mid-range alternative to the 920 and 820 flagships, but was not initially confirmed for a US release.
Yeah… over here in the UK – Vodafone gives this Lumina 620 free of charge to their customers.
Why did I mention that? Because it is the only free phone they give away, we’ve got to pay for all the other ones.. even for some Galaxy mini.

The Aio business model doesn’t make sense. Their distribution outlet is standalone franchised stores initially in only three large cities. Online ordering is limited to customers in Aio cities. I don’t see Aio stores making it to towns of 20,000 yet there are ATT stores in those towns that could have sold it. It should have rolled out as an additional ATT GoPhone-type service available everywhere.
