Nokia has announced the forthcoming launch and further update to its most popular Lumia Windows Phone smartphone in the Lumia 530. T-Mobile USA is the only US carrier that has announced a future release for the phone with the target price set at $130 worldwide.
The Lumia 530 runs Windows Phone 8.1 with Cortana, MixRadio, and HERE Maps built-in and features a 4-inch 854 x 480 display powered by a quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 processor and a 5-megapixel camera without a flash. The phone features HSPA support at 21Mbps, and also includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and aGPS support. System RAM is still limited to 512MB unlike the Lumia 525’s 1GB and internal storage remains limited to 4GB while officially supporting microSD cards up to 128GB. In anticipation of its launch in parts of Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe and parts of Latin America, the 530 will also be sold in a dual-SIM variant. The Lumia 530 begins shipping in August.
