Below are our picks from Newegg’s Black Friday Sale. Order fast, all items are on limited supply. Nearly all of them feature 60 day money-back guarantees and free shipping. You can also think of this as our first Christmas Buying Guide… unlike the competition, we actually know how to write those.
But, before we get to mobile-related deals, here are a few general technology deals… because, we care.
Up first is the ASUS USB 2.0 DVD±RW drive (refurbished) for $10 after a $15 mail-in rebate. Shipping is free.
And, they are also offering the
Rosewill 802.11n USB 2.0 adapter for $9.99, sans any rebates. Free shipping also offered.
If you have Windows 7 Home Premium, you can get instant HD DVR capabilities using this
WinTV HVR-950 USB 2.0 tuner. It supports ATSC (over-the-air), and both Analog and ClearQAM digital cable. You can also capture and digitize older video with it. Shipping is free. The card is $44.97 after a $20 mail-in rebate.
Like watching Hulu on your desktop? Upgrade to this
EVGA GeForce 210 512-P3-1212-LR Video Card. It’s $9.99 after rebate and offers H.264 acceleration. If you’re running Windows Vista/7, you should also get Flash H.264 acceleration as well. $9.99 after a $20 mail-in rebate.
A lot of Black Friday laptops are (finally) featuring eSATA. Finally. Finally. But, to use eSATA, you need something to put that super-large, super-fast hard drive in. Rosewill’s 3.5-inch USB 2.0 and eSATA enclosure should do the trick. It’s $24.99, but falls to $17.99 when using promo code EMCZZNT64.
Got a need for speed? Intel’s X25-M 120 GB SSD is highly regarded as one of the fastest drives out there. Newegg is selling it for $199.99, but Intel will mail customers a $35 prepaid credit card, bringing the total cost down to $164.99.
Thinking that burning Blu-ray discs is just too expensive? Times are changing. As in, changing right now.
LG Black 10X Blu-ray Burner is only $79.99. It bundles LightScribe support, CyberLink PowerDVD 9, 3D Edition, and even a set of red/blue 3D glasses. Something about 3D movies coming back in/out of style.
Now, on to mobile-related deals.
Energizer’s Protective Case w/ Built-in Battery for iPhone (AP1000) is only $7.99 shipped. Compatible with iPhone 3G and 3GS.
Have an iPhone 4? Fear not, they have an Energizer for that too. That’ll cost you more however, $29.99 shipped.
Jawbone Bluetooth Headset (Jawbone Icon The Thinker). $44.99 shipped. ’nuff said. Oh, and they’re throwing in a free case… ’nuff said… again.
Unlike some, we think netbooks are cool. Eco’s 10.2-inch Netbook case is only $9.99, but falls to $4.99 when using promo code EMCZZNT68.
Don’t have 802.11n in your heart and soul of your network? We feel the hurt.
Rosewill’s RNX-EasyN400 Wireless SOHO Router will do the trick. It’s only $19.99 shipped with no rebate hassle.
Cradlepoint’s MBR1000 3G/4G router is available for a new-low price of $109.99. It supports load balancing and fallback routing for mission-critical uses.
The Nokia 5230 is commonly associated with T-Mobile, but there’s actually an unlocked version with AT&T 3G band-types. And, Newegg has that variant of the Nokia 5230 Navigation Edition. At $119.99, it’s cheaper than the T-Mobile locked prepaid version, and includes a car kit for proper GPS use while driving.
As we’ve previously covered, the Nokia 5230 includes Ovi Maps and can be used for worldwide GPS navigation, without any data plan required. The AT&T variant may be better for many, since it can be used with AT&T’s prepaid data plan, as well as abroad with prepaid SIM cards. Keep in mind though, that you will only see 3G service on AT&T here and in Australia. On T-Mobile USA and other countries, it will fall back to GSM/EDGE service.
So, iPod shuffle doesn’t have a display. That’s fine. Archos has a different design language, and Newegg is selling their 4 GB PMP with a tiny display for $29.99. Oh, and it has an FM radio.
Don’t forget yesterday’s deal, still available below in the feed. If you didn’t get your $.99 after rebate Bluetooth 3.0 headset, lock in the deal.
Unrelated to yesterday’s deal for the HBM-235, Newegg is today also offering the LG HBM-900 Bluetooth Headset for $3.99 after a $30 mail-in rebate. This is the same rebate form as for the HBM-235, but it appears you can submit rebates for each headset, and qualify for both. Please note, the price after rebate on the product page is incorrectly listed as $19.99 after rebate. It is a typo on Newegg’s part, the correct math is $33.99 – $30 Mail-in Rebate = $3.99.
That’s all folks! We’ll keep an eye out for more Newegg deals, and post them in new articles as they come. Also, stay tuned to PhoneNews.com for breaking deal-related news as it happens.
Second wave of deals are coming, keep reloading this page to check back.
We’ll let you know when we’re through. Newegg’s servers are being hammered, so we suggest you order what you want from our list now, and then place a second order when we update.
As noted at the end of the article, that’s a wrap on this article. If we catch any new deals, we’ll post them in a new article.
Thanks for staying up with us while we jotted all these down, and for bearing with the traffic spikes.
