MetroPCS has confirmed that it has purchased the assets of bankrupt regional carrier Pocket Communications New England with the goal to launch native coverage and expand LTE service in the Connecticut and Massachusetts region served by the aforementioned defunct carrier, with affected customers being told via mailer that Pocket Communications service would be discontinued on October 31st. Terms of the purchase were not disclosed.
