Regional carrier MetroPCS has launched the ZTE C88, the first handset from the Chinese wireless equipment manufacturer released in the US. The clamshell phone features Bluetooth, 1.3 megapixel camera, WAP browser, 60MB internal memory, and 1xRTT data access.
The phone is now available online for $139.
First ZTE handset launched in North America was actually by Canadian CDMA carrier TELUS Mobility… the ZTE D90 CDMA handset which has been out for approx 7 months:

[…] que se me hace extraño del ZTE C88 es el hecho de que ha sido equipado con Bluetooth 1.1 en vez de utilizar una versión […]
Appreciate the info everyone. I’ve gone ahead and made the correction.
this phone sux. period. the camera is great and thats about all. the web browser cant acsess that many sites, and trying to log in to others just takes you around in circles. the battery dosen’t hold the charge life the handbook claims it dose (not even by half). if i’d realized the flaws in this unit before my return period had expired, I definatley would have taken that option and bought another brand. This is the first of eight phones I have purchased from Metro PCS that I am displeased with. On a scale of 0-10, I’d rate this unit a 3.
THE PHONE IS A OVERALL GOOD PHONE NEVER REALLY GET ANY DROPED CALLS.MOST OF THE TIME I GET SERVICE.ONLY WHEN I SEND A PIC MESSAGE I HAVE TO STAND NEXT TO A WINDOW LIKE A RETARD.TEXTING IS FAST AND EASY.THE PICS ARE OVERALL OK.IT SUCKS THAT IT DOESN’T TAKE VIDEOS.
ummm well this fone suks. i mean u cant download free songs n u cant record n bluetooth is waay too hard to use n u dont have negative in your camera! that is the main attraction for a phone!
I hate Metro Piece of Ish. Period.
