IXI Mobile today has disclosed that they plan to not only re-launch the Ogo, but make it the focus of their business strategy going forward. Cingular recently discontinued the Ogo, formerly sold by AT&T Wireless, but IXI says that they think the market is so big, that it will be their primary product when it re-launches (it also is sold currently in Europe).
IXI did not disclose who would carry a future Ogo, but did state that they planned to discontinue their existing strategy of licensing’s the Ogo’s core OS, and also halt their plan to sell many different Bluetooth-enabled devices. This all but kills the Sanyo Bluetooth messenger device using Ogo’s core OS. Sprint customers first faced IXI with the PCS Vision Camera, which was compatible with both the Samsung N400 and A500.
IXI’s web site has not been updated to reflect this change in focus.
