American Express have announced that in addition to the forthcoming nationwide expansion for the Isis mobile payment service later this year, American Express will add the Serve alternative bank account offering for customers with supported accounts who sign up to use Isis as part of the nationwide expansion. As part of the addition, future new Isis users will get access to the following with Serve:
– Load funds to their American Express Serve account from a variety of sources, including a bank account, debit, credit or charge card, or by receiving money from another American Express Serve account
– Load cash to their American Express Serve account
– Tap and pay with their phone at any NFC enabled retail location that accepts American Express
– Use their American Express Serve card at any merchant that accepts American Express, both online and offline
– Pay bills electronically
– Make person to person (P2P) payments to other American Express Serve account holders
– Add funds using direct deposit
Currently, Isis is undergoing trials in Salt Lake City and Austin. Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile are jointly involved in the Isis mobile payment joint venture.
