For those of you kicking yourselves for missing the $100 instant discount on HP’s TouchPad, rejoice as the manufacturer has made the discount permanent in order to further drive lagging sales. Now, pricing for the 16GB TouchPad will start at $399.99 while the 32GB version will now be priced at $499.99 placing them closer to the iPad 2 in terms of pricing. This follows a whirlwind weekend whereby HP was offering the tablets in many different avenues such as Woot and Staples with differeng discount levels in order to entice customers, with the TouchPad 4G yet to be released, yet receiving FCC approval earlier today.
The HP TouchPad 4G is expected to include a faster 1.2GHz processor compared to the Wi-Fi model, although the filings also point to an HP TouchPad Go, which is expected to be the 7-inch version of the TouchPad series though further specifications have yet to be confirmed.
