HP and AT&T Announce Veer for May 15th at $99.99

AT&T HP VeerHP and AT&T have officially announced the forthcoming launch of the Veer webOS smartphone.

The phone will be launched on May 15th for $99.99 after new two-year agreement.

The Veer features webOS 2.1, including features Just Type universal search. From a hardware standpoint, the Veer will ship with HSPA+ support, a 2.6 inch capacitive touch display, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth and GPS support, 8 GB of memory, Qualcomm Scorpion processor, WebKit browser with Flash support and a 5.0 megapixel camera with autofocus and HD video capture.

The key differentiator for the Veer is its size; it is one of the smallest smartphones ever made. HP hopes to position the Veer as a successor to the Palm Pixi line of devices, set to be fully discontinued. The Veer is also expected to be one of the first phones branded as a 4G phone on AT&T, thanks to its support for HSPA+. The Veer is the first webOS phone to support HSPA+, giving it the fastest bandwidth of any webOS device to-date.
