Following the quiet rollout of its own double data promotion last month in order to drive more subscribers for the holidays, T-Mobile service brand GoSmart Mobile has recently updated the terms of its current promotion to add an ending date of February 1st, 2015 with the following disclaimer, bolded for emphasis:
With this update, the double data promotion is made less appealing, as Boost Mobile recently made its promotional double data plans a permanent fixture in its plan slate after the plans proved much more popular than expected. With the above promotional plans, GoSmart Mobile was a more compelling proposition, even when compared against other brands such as AT&T’s Cricket and smaller MVNOs, despite featuring throttled data speeds. Another trump card that GoSmart Mobile features is unlimited access to Facebook and the standalone Facebook Messenger app at full LTE speeds, which when combined with the increased data allotments made using data much less of a concern compared to other service providers.
When you don’t have a contract, the terms can change whenever it suits the other party. See the initial iPad data plan offering for another clear example.
