Update: Make that from “if” to “no way”, Sprint PR responded to the article saying “At this time Sprint has no plans to offer the Hitachi G1000 device with
the Windows Mobile 2003 software.”
Many in the Hitachi G1000 community of users have been hammering emails at both Sprint and Hitachi demanding an upgrade to Windows Mobile 2003 Phone Edition. Responses from Hitachi have been cloudy, but almost never ruling out an upgrade. Responses from Sprint indicated that Sprint has heard the demand, but that it was uncertain if a release would be made.
However, that appears to have now changed. Canned responses now coming from Sprint state “When the device is upgraded to Windows Mobile 2003, you will be notified
by a high-profile promotion…”
