An enterprising Android hacker/developer by the name of Eugene has hacked access to the CLIQ’s FM radio hardware, which was apparently built into the device by design and turned off in the stock firmware.
The hack was performed by porting an LG Android ROM to the CLIQ when a previously missing library file and bin file were discovered with references to FM Radio.
The files were then loaded along with an additional apk package, which led to the FM radio functionality being activated on the LG ROM.
The work to port the FM radio functionality to the stock CLIQ build with MotoBLUR is in its preliminary stages and will only work with headphones plugged in, as the cord functions as an antenna in the same vein as many previous Motorola models with FM radio.
