The new BlackBerry is known by two different codenames depending on who’s talking with the most common ones being Onyx and Driftwood.
The device features the same HVGA resolution display and 3.2 megapixel camera as the Bold, but features a new keyboard design taken from another forthcoming BlackBerry model in the 9630 Tour.
The complete featureset consists of dual-band HSDPA on 1700/2100, quadband GSM/EDGE, Wi-Fi with UMA access, optical directional pad, GPS transceiver, and microSDHC expansion slot. The device is expected to be launched on T-Mobile as the BlackBerry 9600 in September, though nothing has been officially confirmed as of yet.
