A new update for Firefox Mobile and Maemo has been released with a reduced install footprint, closed tab recall, 25% faster performance compared to the default Android browser, geolocation support on Android and other fixes.

On-No, will it install on a Virgin Mobile Intercept, not so much for the one I downloaded a few days ago?
The latest beta has a system requirements check. We tested it on the Virgin Mobile Intercept, where it reported that the app cannot run because it does not meet the minimum requirements.
In short, unless Mozilla cuts the requirements, Firefox Mobile will never run on the Intercept (barring any performance improvements from an Android 2.2 upgrade, or something similar).
