MetroPCS has cut pricing on its current Android flagship in the Samsung Galaxy S III from its initial launch pricing, with a $100 instant rebate and an additional $50 mail-in rebate, bringing the total to $349.99 when purchased online.The phone must be purchased first for $399.99 online, then the mail-in rebate form must be filled out according to instructions, with rebates being processed within 12 weeks of form receipt.
However, the mail-in rebate becomes a $150 instant rebate when purchased in-store as a brand new activation.While the $150 instant rebate in-store is intended to drive traffic to retail stores, the $50 mail-in rebate is also being used as the incentive to order online, though many with retail stores close by will no doubt go purchase the phone in store for the instant discount in favor of online purchases.
