Walmart is offering, for a limited time, an iTunes $100 gift card for $85. The “card” is delivered electronically via email to your inbox, which can then be redeemed via a redemption code, inside iTunes.
This effectively nets users a 15% discount on anything in the iTunes Store. The cards can also be used for purchases in the Mac App Store. With OS X Mountain Lion nearing release, this can serve as an easy way to get a discount on the otherwise un-discounted operating system. Unlike OS X 10.7 Lion, which was also available via flash drive, OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion will be released exclusively on the Mac App Store.
Some have reported that Walmart is exercising tight security on these eGift Cards. You may receive a phone call from Walmart security, shortly after purchase. This call is, from our understanding, routine to confirm your address and billing information, after which the eGift Card is typically emailed promptly.
