Virgin Mobile is offering the HTC EVO V for $149.99 as part of an after-holiday sale.
The HTC EVO V is different from the One V, and is actually a rebadge of the EVO 3D for prepaid. Because of this, it features 4G WiMAX and 3D display, as well as 3D camera with HD video recording capacity. This makes it the cheapest 3D camera we’ve ever seen, even if you don’t activate the phone with Virgin Mobile service.
Additionally, HTC appears to have slated the EVO V for an upgrade to Android 4.1, Jelly Bean. Ironically, HTC does not appear to have plans to offer the same upgrade for the EVO 3D, despite appearing to have nearly, if not completely identical hardware. Sprint has however discontinued the EVO 3D, while Virgin Mobile is giving the product new life in the prepaid world.
The EVO V is typically priced $179.99. Since this is sold direct from Virgin Mobile, HTC’s one year warranty is valid, and all phones shipped from Virgin Mobile’s website include free standard shipping.
For those on a grandfathered Virgin Mobile $25 Beyond Talk plan, take note that you will lose the plan if you activate this smartphone.

What is your source for this? All previous information has pointed to this not occurring at all. I want it to be true but….
I’d like to know your source? I can’t find this information on HTC’s website.
