Following a trend started in Japan, Sprint today announced that they will deploy wireless billing services for a broad array of ticketed venues. The system will be leveraged using short codes and charges applied to the customer’s wireless bill.
To demonstrate this, Sprint has integrated ticket sales on the Las Vegas Monorail (coincidentally at the same time CTIA begins). Tickets will remain the same price of $5, but will work with Swiftpass ticket generation terminals to print the ticket based on a confirmation code sent to the phone.
