At CTIA Nokia showed off three new CDMA2000 phones, all three appear to be possible candidates for Sprint.
6012/6015i: An entry level phone, appears to be similar to the VI600, complete with voice dialing and speakerphone.
3205: Many have stated this phone is a lock for Sprint, but we are going to break some news here… it isn’t. Sprint is not sure if they are going to take this phone or not currently. If they will, it will be targeted at a younger audience, and Sprint will do some major market research and focus grouping in order to ensure that the 3205 hits the mark. But as of right now, the phone is not a lock for Sprint.
The 3205 is very similar to the GSM Nokia 3200, with user changeable faceplate inserts (that can be made with a standard printer). The biggest difference is that the Nokia 3205 has a video camera, instead of a still camera.
Nokia 6255i: Nokia. Clamshell. Video Camera with Flash. Bluetooth. Do we need to say more? Okay… streaming video support.
Nokia also demonstrated some new technologies. 1xEV-DV was touted, but more significantly, Nokia announced a new standard to create a cross-platform MMS protocol. This would allow GSM and CDMA users to exchange MMS messages seamlessly.
