AT&T has announced a new lineup of USBConnect modems with differing featuresets along with prepaid service plans and support. The first unit is the USBConnect Adrenaline modem from LG that will be the carrier’s very first LTE device when it will receive a firmware update to enable LTE access in 2011 while featuring HSPA support, microSDHC slot and GPS support for $49.99 after new agreement.
The next unit from Sierra is the USBConnect Shockwave which will be AT&T’s first HSPA+ compatible for free after new agreement. The last modem being introduced is the Huawei USBConnect 900, AT&T’s first Huawei-souirced device compatible with AT&T’s prepaid DataConnect Pass plans ($15/$30/$50 for 100MB/300MB/1GB respectively). The Adrenaline and 900 will launch on October 17th while the Shockwave has not been slated for release.
