Cowboom, Best Buy’s return outlet is running an all-day sale on Apple desktops and portable computers.
Many of these machines are being sold at attractive prices, but are being fire-saled one by one on Cowboom’s Deal of the Day page.
Thus far we’ve seen mostly MacBook units being sold, with many Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion-ready machines selling for under five hundred dollars. These machines are often used, and can arrive via different means to Cowboom.
The majority of these units are returns from Best Buy stores, that occurred within the return period. Some machines are buy backs from Best Buy’s trade in programs, and some are units that were not picked up from Geek Squad computer repairs.
Regardless, Cowboom offers a satisfaction guarantee on all purchases, including an easy-to-print return shipping label. While sometimes we have gotten items from Cowboom that probably should not have been resold, we’ve never had a problem with returning an item. And, tallying the scores from Cowboom that we’ve gotten over the years, we proudly give Cowboom two thumbs up here at PhoneNews.com.
Our personal favorite buys this year were the 1.6 GHz Core i5 MacBook Air (Late 2011, 4GB RAM/128GB SSD) for $900, and a current generation Core i5 2.5 GHz Mac mini for $450.
