Clearwire has announced the forthcoming launch of the iSpot modem/router, intended as a companion to Apple’s devices such as the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. The device features support for the aforementioned devices and will be sold at a special price of $29 today and tomorrow as a part of its Clear Spot sale with new service activation before launching  on August 10th at its regular price of $99.99 when purchased outright through Clear retail stores and authorized dealers.
Update: More information on the iSpot has been confirmed courtesy of Clearwire representatives, who have stated that the device is restricted to the Apple series of devices in order to qualify for the $25 no-contract data plan, which is the only plan offered and is not a promotional rate. In order for the iSpot to be used with non-Apple devices, an authorized Clearwire representative must unlock the device at the expense of losing access to the $25 plan and being moved to the $40 data plan with an agreement required.
So you just spoof your MAC address to an Apple range?
