This morning, Clearwire has announced its prepaid Rover service in a bid to compete with the forthcoming LTE rollout being conducted by MetroPCS next month. The Rover service is composed of branded devices and daily/weekly/monthly service plans set at $5/day, $20/week and $50 a month.
To that end, Rover-branded devices will also be available with the Rover Puck and Stick priced at $149.99 and $99.99 via retail in St. Louis and Houston as well as online via the Rover portal across Clearwire’s network. Clearwire has also confirmed to PhoneNews.com during the press conference that the service will not feature any bandwidth caps, while leaving the door open for Clear-branded devices to be activated on Rover service plans in the future.
