Clearwire and Sprint Roll Out WiMax Service in Minneapolis and Pittsburgh

Clearwire and Sprint have jointly rolled out WiMax service in the Minneapolis and Pittsburgh markets. 

Coverage in Minneapolis spans as Anoka, as far south as Apple Valley and southwest as Eden Prairie, west to Maple Grove, and east to Woodbury, while coverage in Pittsburgh spans North Hills to South Park and from Monroeville to Carnegie.

Clearwire is also offering new customers in the above markets two months of service at half-price along with free shipping on online orders

    Clearwire is overselling its WiMax services. It recently imposed an 8GB monthly cap on its users. Once users hit that limit, they are throttled to 25kbps for the rest of the month.
