PhoneNews has been able to confirm that the Unlimited by Boost service will carry Hybrid/PowerSource devices as early as this summer. Several sources have confirmed that the first Hybrid device on the service will be the ic402 Buzz, although no mention was made if the ic502 Blend would also be available.
This marks the first time Hybrid devices will be sold without a contract, keeping the original focus of the Boost Mobile brand intact while keeping inline with their original plan to transition users of the iDEN network to CDMA.
Unlimited by Boost is Sprint’s unlimited service offering currently only available in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, Northern California, and Metro Los Angeles markets designed to compete with Metro PCS and Cricket. There are also plans for expansion into other markets during the summer, but no specific markets were mentioned. We will post more information as soon as it becomes available.
