File this one under BlueAnt didn’t email us like they said they would… department.
A little over two months ago, BlueAnt updated their formerly-flagship Z9 headset. The update makes improvements to Bluetooth communications, improves audio quality in windy conditions, and fixes a problem with the Verizon XV6800 where connections would drop. It does not appear that this issue affects other HTC Titan (Mogul) variants.
However, for the prior two reasons… all Z9 owners are encouraged to update.
I have to say, BlueAnt firmware upgrades are a like a walk in central park. You never know what to expect, not to mention it only upgrades on a ****** PC. Where’s the Mac love?
I believe the problem lies with the chipset vendor, CSR. The BlueCore chipset update tool is Windows-only. BlueAnt would have to probably pay a pretty penny to make CSR port the underlying service tool and drivers.
