Update: Further information has surfaced along with a purported official image featuring T-Mobile branding.
The smart device is now expected to feature an internal Wi-Fi radio, QVGA internal display, a 2.0 megapixel camera with the aforementioned flash, a 3.5mm standard headphone jack, and a revised SureType keyboard.
The device is now expected to launch in September, lending further credence to the 3rd quarter launch window, though that can change at any time.
The first shots of a new BlackBerry device have surfaced thanks to the Boy Genius Report.
As seen in the pictures demonstrating the mockup version, the KickStart is a large clamshell that will feature a large internal display, TrackBall navigation, SureType converged QWERTY keyboard, and a camera of unknown resolution with flash. RIM expects the device to launch in the 3rd quarter of this year with no further details at this time.
Looks sort of retro and large AKA LG VX8000. But it’s nice to have variety. I prefer candybar phones, but Clamshell style do have a large worldwide following.
RIM and T-Mobile would definitely be going after the consumer market with this device to create new Crackberries like me.
Looks like T-Mobile will be selling this one first here in the US
