Best Buy Mobile employees have been confirming via HowardForums that it will begin offering T-Mobile service nationwide via unlocked device sales and contracts with subsidies beginning on November 16th.
This little-known sales tactic in the US is quite common in European and Asian countries, where providers will subsidize unlocked devices in order to grab customers by offering the latest devices at a steep discount in exchange for a contract.
The first phones and devices to be offered under the program will be the Nokia E71-2 for $199.99, the Nokia N95-4 at $349.99, and the Nokia N96 for $599.99 after new 2 year agreement.  Note that these devices will not function on T-Mobile’s 3G network but are otherwise fully compatible with EDGE service.

First time for National Retail, although smaller firms have been doing this for some time now, such as mobilebee. Hopefully, BestBuy will also set up the devices to connect to T-Mo unlike the other firms….
