Ever wanted to go to CTIA Wireless Expo, but thought it was too expensive? Have we got a deal for you.
You can actually get an entire trip to the show, covering all three days, for under $350. Hotel, airfare, and badge paid for. The reason? While CTIA is a big show, it’s not along the lines of CES. And, as such, hotels do not consider it an event “big enough” to lock out teaser rates, which Las Vegas is pushing to try and restart struggling sales.
By far the best deal we’ve found is Hooters hotel, about a half mile from the all-important Monorail system, which will take you to most spots on the Las Vegas Strip (including the Convention Center) within minutes. The travel site Expedia.com will let you snap up March 31 through April 3rd at just $20 per night (plus taxes and fees, it winds up being about $82 for the entire three night booking). And, air carriers like Southwest offer standard web deals for flights around the $99 range to Las Vegas.
We also found hotels with dedicated monorail stations on Expedia in the low $30 to $35 range.
Just for comparison, we paid about twice that to cover CES 2009. Unfortunately, the most expensive part of the trip is the badge. Exhibit hall-only badges range from $120 to $150. However, even with that badge price, this is probably the cheapest it has even been to go to CTIA Wireless Expo.
But, if $350 is too much, fear not, we’re sending more people than ever to cover the show on-site. And, as usual, unlike the other guys… you can watch it all here in full HD.
