AT&T to Roll Out 3G MicroCell Service Nationwide

After months of trials, AT&T has officially announced the forthcoming nationwide rollout of its 3G MicroCell service in mid-April for $149.99 and support for up to 4 active lines at a time, with AT&T allowing customers to register up to 10 numbers to access the MicroCell and the additional voice/data coverage it provides.

The service will cost $19.99/month for unlimited calling and/or data from the MicroCell regardless of individual or family plan, with AT&T offering rebates to lower the unit price of the MicroCell depending on options selected.

Good idea, but can’t see myself paying extra $20 to get service that should already be provided to me for my monthly price.
