In a press release, AT&T has launched an extension to its AT&T Navigator GPS service which now features location based services access from particular AT&T handsets with GPS support in Western Europe, the Carribean Islands, and the six Chinese cities that will host the Summer Olympics in Beijing, Shanghai, Qingdao, Shenyang, Tianjin, and Qinhuangdao.
Appropriately, the service includes all of the features found in the standard AT&T Navigator application such as automatic route correction, business location, text and spoken directions, as well as turn by turn directions in English, German, Italian or Spanish.
The service commands a $10 premium over the standard monthly access rate for the domestic version at $19.99 at the same unlimited access rate with international rates for data access where applicable. The service is now available on the AT&T Tilt, BlackBerry 8800, BlackBerry 8820, BlackBerry Curve 8310, BlackBerry Pearl 8110, BlackJack II, and MOTO Q 9h smart devices.
