AT&T has announced the forthcoming launch of its own variants of the Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus after months of speculation.
Both versions are identical in technical specification to the versions sold on Verizon save for the difference in cellular radio from CDMA to GSM/W-CDMA with 16GB of storage, GPS, WiFi radio and Bluetooth 2.1 for the Pre Plus and 8GB storage, WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth 2.1 for the Pixi Plus with quadband GSM/EDGE and triband HSPA support. AT&T will also be offering a variation of both devices with a blue backplate in addition to the standard black and other cover options.
The aforementioned will also support AT&T’s new Address Book service as a Synergy sync option and will have free access to the carrier’s 20,000+ Wi-Fi hotspots. Pricing is set at for $149.99 for the Pre Plus and $49.99 for the Pixi Plus with $100 mail-in rebates and two-year agreement, with no launch information available at this time.
