AT&T has announced its version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab set for launch on November 21st for $649.99 with no agreement. The DataPlus and Data Pro plans will be available for the device at $14.99/250MB and $25.00/2GB with included AT&T Wi-Fi access. AT&T is also including a $50 credit to the Samsung Media Hub entertainment portal.
The Galaxy Tab features the 1 GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor, HSPA/EDGE data, 7-inch capacitive 1024×600 resolution display with multi-touch support, Android 2.2, Wi-Fi radio, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS support, DLNA media streaming, Flash 10.1, 3.0 megapixel main camera with flash, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, HD video playback at 1080p and microSD card slot with support for 32 GB cards.

Can some explain the sense of taking this function out? Why not leave it for the consumer to see if worth using as phone or not, rather than make my mind up for me. Please some one with inside info on why this makes sense to the big 4?
